My Top Pick For New Sites: Bluehost

I recommend Bluehost for all new sites with less than 30,000 pageviews per month.

Why I Recommend Bluehost: Getting setup and started with a brand new WordPress site is extremely easy with Bluehost.  Their support is top-notch and the UI is intuitive and easy to use..  I never had to wait more than a few minutes for support and they always were knowledgeable and were able to solve the various problems I had when getting started with a new site.  Their hosting also happens to be one of the cheapest options out there for just a few bucks a month.

What They Could Do To Improve: One area they could improve is speed and uptime.  The speed in the front-end for visitors to the website is good for a cheap host, but the speed in the WordPress dashboard on the back-end is noticeably slow.  I did have one instance where my site went offline for a few minutes due to work on Bluehost’s end but their engineers fixed it within 30 minutes.

Compared To The Competition: You can’t get an easier-to-use host to get setup and running than Bluehost for a new site.  It definitely is slower at times but is the best for new sites.

My Top Pick For Established Sites: WPX Hosting

I recommend WPX Hosting for all established sites with more than 30,000 pageviews per month.

Why I Recommend WPX Hosting: WPX takes all the shortcomings of Bluehost and alleviates them.  The instant I switched to WPX I noticed a HUGE increase in speed on the back-end admin area of WordPress, which has helped to decrease the time it takes to navigate between pages and get posts published.  The speed on the front-end also increased a ton.  Oh, and WPX has 24/7 support that literally messages you back within an average of 5 minutes (I still haven’t had a response take more than 10 minutes, I’ve been using WPX for awhile now 🙂👍).

What They Could Do To Improve: After using them for a long time, there honestly isn’t anything I would say that needs to be improved.

Compared To The Competition: WPX Hosting is the fastest hosting provider out of the competition and is substantially less expensive than premium hosts, such as WP Engine, Kinsta, or CloudWays.
