Elementor Review: Best WordPress Page Builder

In this Elementor review, I’ll unpack the key features of Elementor and how you can get started designing a fully customizable site in no time.

I\’ll also share whether it\’s worth it to get the pro version of Elementor and some frequently asked questions that might come up if you\’re on the fence.

Now, here’s a breakdown of what I’ll be covering in this Elementor Review:

Elementor Overview: What is it?

Elementor is a well-built WordPress page builder used to fully customize the look and feel of your blog or website.

I’ve been using Elementor to design the blog you’re on right now. It’s allowed me to create my own professional looking design that’s truly without limits.

The first impression of a website visitor is likely to be the design of your website.  If you haven’t taken the time to design a unique site, you simply won’t stand out.

When you get Elementor, you get access to creating custom post templates to easily create new blog posts or pages with ease.  Plus, you won’t need anything extra to create pop-ups.  Simply get Elementor Pro and build all the pop-ups and forms directly with the page builder.

Elementor: Key Features Breakdown

Elementor has a ton of amazing features that make it one of the best page builders around. I’ll focus on the key features that I use most often that you’ll likely use a lot as well.

Let’s take a look now at the key features available with Elementor.

Out of all the elements listed above, you’ll likely use the Theme elements the most.  Every blog post will need a title, content, and likely a featured image.

On top of all the widgets you can get with Elementor are the Essential Add-ons for additional functionality.

With the Essential Add-ons you get an additional 60+ widgets. My favorite ones to use are the dynamic post grid and dynamic gallery. This allows for a new post to appear automatically whenever it’s published.

The post gallery above automatically updates on my site with the featured image whenever I publish a new post. This is extremely useful and the look and feel of the gallery can be optimized to your liking.

2) Theme Builder (Create Post Templates & Global Widgets)

The Theme Builder is only available with the Elementor Pro version and is by far the most useful for website design.

Elementor Theme Builder

It allows you to create post templates you can use for every single post or page you create. This has saved me a tremendous amount of time and allows me to get to work and start writing as quick as possible.

Global widgets are another thing that I use constantly that you may not immediately recognize as being useful. Some of the things I use them for are, sidebar widgets, affiliate disclaimers, and author box.

You can even set certain templates to display only for specific posts or categories.  See below for how to do this.

3) Built-In Popups & Forms

One of the really useful things you get if you decide to get the Pro version of Elementor is popups.

Normally, you’d need an additional plugin and likely have to pay an additional monthly fee simply to add popups and forms on your site.

Elementor Popups

With Elementor Pro, you have the ability to create customizable popup forms that can even connect with your favorite email autoresponder.

This means that you’ll easily be able to follow-up with your website visitors and save a ton of money in the process.  However, I actually use Thrive Leads on my site for popups primarily because it allows for split-testing and shows in-depth statistics.

So, if you want a more advanced popup and form plugin in addition to Elementor Pro then I’d recommend going with Thrive Leads.

You can check out my full in-depth Thrive Leads review for more.

4) Live Front-End Development

The best part about Elementor is that you can make all of your designs in real-time.

In other words, you are able to do live front-end development for any post or page on your site.

What’s nice about this is that you no longer of to use the WordPress post editor to create posts.  Instead you can choose to create a post by selecting ‘Edit With Elementor’ and develop everything on the front-end.

The image above is what it looks like when editing a post with Elementor.  You can take a look at the live version of my Bluehost Review as well.

My favorite part about being able to edit posts with Elementor is that I can add in any widgets I want to make my post stand out.

5) Sticky Headers & Elements

The last main feature I want to highlight that I use a lot is sticky headers and elements.

This simply means that when you scroll down a page the element is sticky and stays on screen either on the top or bottom.

Not only can you make images sticky but also videos as well!

Let’s move on now to the pricing structure for Elementor.

Elementor Pricing

Elementor has the following three pricing plans:

  • $49/year for 1 Site (Personal Plan)
  • $99/year for 3 Sites (Plus Plan)
  • $199/year for 1,000 Sites (Expert Plan)

Elementor-pricing

Elementor at the base level is actually a free page builder which you can give a try and download here.

However, I highly recommend getting the personal plan for 1 site.  At just $49/year, you’ll be getting the full version of Elementor Pro and tons of extra features and widgets.

Should You Upgrade To The Pro Version?

This is the all important question:  Should you upgrade to Elementor Pro?

Well, I currently have it on my site and honestly don’t know what I’d do without some of the extra features it provides.

You’ll get access to an extra 50+ widgets, the theme builder to create custom templates and headers and footers, and be able to create customized popups for your site.

With Elementor Pro, you’ll also get access to even more done-for-you site templates to effortlessly build your design off of.  Plus, you will have priority 24/7 support and get all the latest Pro updates to the software.

Elementor: What I Like…

1) Live Front-End Development

By far, the #1 thing I like about Elementor is its easy-to-use live front-end development.  This makes it super easy to see how everything lays out your site.

Plus, you can easily create a responsive design for desktop, tablet, and mobile.

2) Tons of Widgets To Choose From

There’s tons of widgets that are really easy to use and allow to build just about anything you can think of.  You’ll be able to create sticky elements and headers.  Everything is customizable and is an intuitive drag-and-drop interface.

Being able to use the Elementor page builder when editing a post, makes it an incredible way to easily produce awesome content that stands out.

Plus, you can even get more widgets to design with when you get Essential Addons.

3) Customizable Popups

Even though I use Thrive Leads, Elementor’s ability to create popups directly with there builder is a feature that can’t be ignored.

The fact that you can integrate it with popular email autoresponders such as ActiveCampaign, GetResponse, AWeber, and more makes it one of the best features.

Elementor: What I Don’t Like…

1) There’s no lifetime deal

As much of an absolute bargain Elementor Pro is, there’s definitely still a part of me that wishes they had a lifetime deal.

In reality, they likely wouldn’t be able to offer 24/7 priority support if it wasn’t subscription based.

Plus, it’s still an incredible deal and something I’m more than willing to pay to get a top-of-the-line page builder that still excels with site speed and performance.

Elementor: Frequently Asked Questions

Elementor comes with the Hello Elementor theme for free!  It’s the same theme that I started building my blog on when I started out using Elementor and it worked great.  Now, I’ve upgraded to the Astra Pro theme for a few additional functionalities.

Surprisingly, Elementor is a lightweight page builder that doesn’t dramatically affect the page load speed of your site.  Out of all the page builders out there, Elementor is one of the fastest.

Yes!  If you get Elementor Pro, you’ll be able to create global templates you can use for every post or specific places on your site.

The base plan for Elementor is free.  However, you’ll be missing out on a lot of key features and won’t get any pro updates which is why I recommend going with Elementor Pro.

Elementor Review: Closing Thoughts

Out of all the page builders out there, I chose to build my site with Elementor Pro.

It gives you the flexibility and freedom to create a website that looks professional and will undeniably make a great first impression.  There’s constantly new updates and the builder is being improved regularly.

It’s one of the few page builders that doesn’t drag down the page load time as well.

All around, Elementor has my vote.  I will without a doubt be building my next site with Elementor Pro.  What about you?  Head below to get started with Elementor Pro.
