How To Get an Email With A Custom Domain: Why Is Using Gmail Important?
Here are four reasons why using Gmail is important for setting up a custom domain email for your business or website:
- The majority of people use Gmail as their email service provider. G Suite is what google offers to be able to setup your email with a custom domain.
- You’re likely familiar with Google apps, which Google gives you access to their full suite of apps (hence, G Suite).Â
- You can view your emails for your business in the same manner as your personal email – directly from within Gmail.
- G Suite support is AMAZING. No seriously, setting up email can be tricky for a domain (which is why you’re here I presume). The good news is that G Suite always answers promptly and has solved my issues with incredible speed!

The easiest way I found to do this is by choosing to insert an HTML tag into your site’s home page. You can do this by downloading the Headers and Footers WordPress plugin, then go ahead and copy and paste the code into the header. Â
Click “Verify” to get your domain verified!
5. Log in to your Google Workspace account.Â
Click on “Users” and you should have a user listed there. You can then simply edit the info or add however many more users you need!
Congratulations! You’ve just finished setting up your own custom domain name email. If for some reason you got stuck on verifying your domain, I recommend reaching out to G Suite support.

Can you create an email with your own domain for free?
It is not possible to create an email with your own domain for free, as this requires purchasing a domain name and setting up email hosting services. However, there are some ways to create an email with your own domain that are relatively inexpensive. Here are a few options:
Purchase a domain name and set up email hosting through a third-party provider. Many web hosting companies offer email hosting services, and some domain registrars also offer email hosting as an add-on service. Prices for these services can vary, but you can often find affordable options that will allow you to create an email with your own domain.
Use a free email forwarding service. Some domain registrars offer email forwarding as a free service, which allows you to forward emails sent to your domain name to another email address (such as a Gmail or Yahoo address). This can be a good option if you don’t need a full email hosting service, but still want to have a custom email address.
Use a free email hosting service with limited features. There are some free email hosting services available that allow you to create an email with your own domain, but these services may have limited storage space or features. One example of a free email hosting service is Zoho Mail, which offers a limited number of free email accounts with custom domains.

Is a custom email domain worth it?
Yes, having a custom email domain can be worth it for a number of reasons. Here are a few of the key benefits:
Professionalism – Using a custom email domain can help give your business or personal brand a more professional and polished image. It can help show your clients, customers, and contacts that you take your work seriously and have invested in your online presence.
Branding – A custom email domain can also help with branding, allowing you to use your business or personal brand name in your email address. This can help build brand recognition and make it easier for others to remember and find you online.
Control – Having a custom email domain also gives you greater control over your online presence. You can choose a domain name that is unique to you and that reflects your personal or professional brand, and you can manage your email accounts and settings more easily than with a generic email service.
Security – Finally, using a custom email domain can provide greater security for your email accounts. Many custom email hosting services offer advanced security features, such as two-factor authentication and spam filtering, which can help protect your email accounts from hacking and other threats.
Overall, while there is a cost associated with getting a custom email domain, the benefits can make it a worthwhile investment for both personal and professional use.
How much does it cost to buy an email domain?
The cost of buying an email domain can vary depending on a few factors, such as the domain registrar or email hosting service you use, the length of time you register the domain for, and any additional services you may need.
Here are a few rough estimates of the costs involved in buying an email domain:
Domain name registration – This is the cost of registering the domain name itself, which typically ranges from $10 to $20 per year, although prices can vary depending on the domain extension (e.g. .com, .org, .net) and the availability of the domain name you want.
Email hosting – If you want to use your email domain for sending and receiving emails, you will also need to sign up for an email hosting service. Prices for email hosting can vary depending on the provider and the plan you choose, but typically range from $1 to $10 per user per month.
Additional services – Depending on your needs, you may also need to pay for additional services like website hosting, security, or backup services. The cost of these services can vary widely depending on the provider and the level of service you need.
Overall, the total cost of buying an email domain can range from around $10 per year for just the domain registration, to several hundred dollars per year for more advanced email hosting and other services. However, there are many affordable options available for buying an email domain, and the benefits of having a custom email address can make it a worthwhile investment for personal and professional use.
Do I get a free email with GoDaddy domain?
GoDaddy does offer email services, but it does not provide a free email service with domain registration. If you purchase a domain name from GoDaddy, you will need to sign up for an email hosting service in order to create a custom email address.
GoDaddy offers two email hosting plans: Email Essentials and Business Premium. Email Essentials is priced at $1.99 per user per month and includes 5GB of storage, a professional email address with your domain name, and webmail access. Business Premium is priced at $4.99 per user per month and includes 50GB of storage, a professional email address with your domain name, and access to Microsoft Office 365 web applications.
While GoDaddy’s email hosting plans are not free, they do offer affordable options for creating a custom email address with your domain name. Additionally, GoDaddy provides customer support and integrates well with its other website and domain management services, which can make it a convenient choice for some users.
Can I have a domain email without a website?
Yes, it is possible to have a domain email without a website. Email hosting services provide email-only plans that allow you to create and manage email accounts with your own domain name, without having to purchase a website hosting plan.
You can purchase a domain name from a domain registrar such as GoDaddy or Namecheap, and then sign up for an email hosting service such as G Suite (Google Workspace), Zoho Mail, or Microsoft 365. These services offer plans that are specifically designed for email hosting, and they provide all the tools you need to create and manage email accounts with your own domain name.
Once you have signed up for an email hosting plan, you can create email accounts for yourself and any other users on your domain, and then use an email client (such as Gmail or Outlook) to send and receive emails. You do not need to have a website in order to use a custom domain email address, and you can use your email address for personal or professional communication.
Having a domain email address can help give your business or personal brand a more professional image, and it can make it easier for others to find and remember your email address. It can also provide greater security and control over your email accounts.
Is GoDaddy cheaper than Google Domains?
The cost of registering a domain name can vary depending on the domain registrar and the specific domain extension you want. In general, both GoDaddy and Google Domains offer competitive pricing for domain registration, but the prices can differ depending on the domain extension.
For example, at the time of writing, the cost of registering a .com domain for one year with GoDaddy is $11.99 per year (for the first year, then it goes to the standard $17.99), while the cost of registering the same domain with Google Domains is $12.00 per year. However, for other domain extensions, such as .org or .net, the pricing may differ between the two registrars.
In addition to the cost of domain registration, both GoDaddy and Google Domains offer additional services and products, such as email hosting, website hosting, and website building tools, which can also impact the overall cost of using these services.
When comparing the pricing between GoDaddy and Google Domains, it’s important to consider the specific domain extensions you are interested in, as well as any additional services you may need. You can check the pricing and features of both registrars to determine which one offers the best value for your needs.
How much does a Gmail domain cost?
Google provides a free email service with a Gmail domain, which allows you to create a custom email address with a domain name of your choice (e.g. you@yourdomain.com) using the Gmail interface.
However, if you want to use the full suite of Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) productivity tools, including Gmail with your custom domain, you will need to purchase a Google Workspace subscription. The basic Google Workspace plan, which includes Gmail with a custom domain, costs $6 per user per month.
This plan includes 30 GB of storage, Google Meet video and voice conferencing, shared calendars, and other features such as Google Drive, Google Docs, and Google Sheets. There are also more advanced plans available with additional features and more storage space, which are priced higher.
So while you can get a Gmail domain email address for free, using it with a custom domain and the full suite of Google Workspace productivity tools does require a subscription.
