There’s A LOT of ways on how to get started with affiliate marketing out there. Countless blog posts, YouTube videos, podcasts, and many more have been made on the subject.
Quite honestly, the thing that’s the most difficult when getting started is simply figuring out where to begin.Â
I started out my affiliate marketing journey buying course after course, hopping from mentor to mentor, and promoting a new product practically every other day.Â
It was rough.
For nearly 6 months, I was literally being dragged around the internet chasing shiny object after shiny object. I just thought that if I threw enough money at it or if I could somehow find that perfect product to promote, then I would make bank almost overnight. Right?
Dead wrong.
My problem was that I lacked FOCUS.
Now, are you ready to break the chains of indirection and uncertainty and have a breakthrough? Are you ready to finally chase after success and commit to mastery?
If you are, then stick with me to the end of this post. It just might blow you away.
Getting Started With Affiliate Marketing Step 1: Break The Chains Of Indirection
Currently, I’m assuming you’ve heard a little bit about affiliate marketing and have a strong desire to change your current situation of life. We all come with baggage and from different backgrounds and walks of life.
We’re ready to break out into building an online business with affiliate marketing but there’s a problem: We lack direction.
So, how do we figure out which way to go? Seriously, how do you make money online?
It starts with recognizing AND believing that there’s more than one way to make money online or do affiliate marketing.
In other words, you just need to focus (there’s that word again…).
Getting Started With Affiliate Marketing Step 2: Capitalize On Your Strengths
The truth is that there’s a lot of people and things out there vying for your attention. For instance, people are saying that video is the way of the future and that your business will completely flop if you aren’t willing to make videos and slap them up on YouTube.
In reality, there are tons of social media platforms out there but only a small handful of “so-called gurus” generally find great success. Why is this? Because they choose to focus.
Think about it. Even the big names in the online marketing world don’t create content for every single platform. No, they make content for one platform and re-purpose that same piece of content to all the other platforms out there.
Not only does this maximize time, but it also allows you to focus strictly on income-generating tasks.
So, how do you capitalize on your strengths when starting out?Â
It’s a simple formula. You pick one platform you use a lot, one area of interest that you’re good at, and one product to promote that you’ve used extensively until you become a super affiliate for that product.Â
I call it the super affiliate formula:
Â
Getting Started With Affiliate Marketing Step 3: Provide Value On Value
Believe it or not, providing value on value is the easiest way to get traffic to your offers. I’m talking about giving away things for free that other people don’t. Â
Build a course and give it away for free (just include a few affiliate links in there for good measure…). Or you can create a Facebook group and give away things for free in there as you start to build up a tribe of people.
It’s also important to be honest and do everything with integrity. In today’s world, doing those two things will help you stand out far above the rest.
In the end, it’s about getting people to know, like, and trust you enough to actually want to buy from you. Â
Getting Started With Affiliate Marketing Step 4: Take The Leap And Grow Personally
I hate personal growth. It means I have to go outside my comfort zone and be vulnerable. It means I have to take risks with a high probability of failing.
Trust me, we’ve all been there at the place where doubt and fear creep in.
Seriously though, even making this blog, putting my name out there for the world to see was difficult and still is. I’m telling you right now that you need to look beyond the zeros in your future bank account and start thinking about impact.
How can you make an impact with your business? What will you do to solve people’s problems? Are you committed to changing lives? This leads me to the last step.
Getting Started With Affiliate Marketing Step 5: Commit To Mastery
The final step in getting started with affiliate marketing is to commit to mastery. Now that you’ve honed in on the area you want to focus on, it’s time to master it.
Start by making a ten-year plan for your business. It’s important to play the long game so you stop chasing after overnight success and start chasing after consistent growth.
When you commit to mastery of one platform (whether it be blogging or YouTube), you’ll find that exponential growth will start to take shape.
The content you put out today with zero followers lays the foundation for the content you put out ten years from now with potentially millions of followers.
What types of products should you promote as an affiliate?
Believe it or not, there’s actually two specific types of products that you should be focused on promoting.
 1. High Ticket Affiliate Products and Offers
My #1 recommended high ticket affiliate program to join is called Legendary Marketer. However, they don’t let just anyone in. Â
They only want those who are committed to building an ethical freelance digital marketing business. It costs just $7 to sign up and get started with their 15 Day Online Business Builder Challenge. Â
You’ll have the chance to apply for the affiliate program to have the potential to make high-ticket sales for as high as $12K. The best part is that they do all of the selling on the back-end for you.
If you’re interested in signing up for Legendary Marketer and taking the 15 Day Online Business Builder Challenge, then go here to sign up. 😉
 2. Lifetime Monthly Recurring Affiliate Products
There’s quite a few lifetime monthly recurring affiliate programs out there but ClickFunnels is unique in my opinion. Â
Not only do you get 40% monthly recurring revenue for each ClickFunnels member signed up under you, but you have a plethora of other products right at your fingertips that ClickFunnels lets their affiliates promote.
I recommend as always that you are an avid user of the product you’re promoting that way you are able to share uniquely with others how it’s useful to you.
I’ve created an entire course that I’m willing to give away for free since you’ve taken the time to read this post. It outlines everything you need to get started with ClickFunnels and use it to scale up your business in no time.
If you don’t have ClickFunnels, then you’ll need to sign up for the 14-Day Free Trial here.
Closing Thoughts
I’ll leave you with this:
Building a business of any kind is difficult, but when you focus and commit to mastery something much bigger just may come out of it.Â
For me, it means I get to make an impact and change the lives of those around me when I share products that I truly believe in. Â
The question now becomes, why are you building an online business with affiliate marketing?
Truly answer that question and the rest of the steps will fall into place.
